The 10 Best AEO Tools in 2025

For an answer engine optimization (AEO) guru, tools are like their arms and legs.

You can’t do anything without them.

They provide extraordinary benefits, from identifying issues in performance metrics to offering improvement suggestions backed by industry insights.

It’s worth noting that most of these tools only started to emerge after answer engines began interacting with real-time internet connections in late 2023.

That means each one is still in its development stage, which is why you may not have heard of many of them yet.

In this article, we’ve compiled the most useful and prominent ones for you.

🥇 Top 10 AEO Tools

What is an AEO Tool?

An AEO tool helps enhance answer engine optimization campaigns by streamlining key processes and improving performance.

These tools can serve many functions — from enhancing a brand’s AI search performance to analyzing user intent and queries.

Each campaign may focus on a specific aspect of AEO and require different tools.

Some are used in narrow scopes, such as tracking how your brand appears in AI-generated responses.

Others are all-in-one tools with comprehensive capabilities: a large team might use different features at the same time to reach results.

Types of AI Tools

Answer engine insights tools: Help track how often and in what way brands and websites appear in answer engines. They also provide data on which content and websites are referenced by the engine during the response generation process.

Conversation explorers: Analyze what users are asking answer engines and the volume of these questions. This helps brands understand trends in user queries and behavior.

Agent analytics: Help understand how answer engine bots crawl your site and interpret your content. With this data, you can optimize your site to be better understood by answer engines.

Shopping tools: Help analyze how your products appear on answer engine shopping platforms like ChatGPT Shopping, and provide suggestions to boost visibility.

Others: Apart from these, there are many tools focused on query and intent analysis, topical authority and content analysis/interpretation/mapping, answer gap detection, sentiment analysis, journey mapping, structural and technical compatibility.

All-in-one tools: Combine multiple tools and features in one platform, making them the most commonly used option.

The Thinking Behind Our Top AEO Tool Picks

Many tools currently target only large brands and marketing agencies.

This tilts the scale toward brand-heavy use — but as small businesses and solo marketers rapidly join in, the balance is likely to restore itself over time.

To reflect this evolving landscape, we tried to strike a balance by including tools that serve different scales.

And since many tools perform the same functions well, we focused only on those that stand out with specific features.

1 – Profound: The Swiss Army Knife in the Digital Expert’s Toolkit

Calling it the most advanced answer engine optimization tool wouldn’t be wrong. It’s multifunctional, versatile, and highly practical.

Still, that level of advancement doesn’t necessarily mean it is a fit for everyone. That’s because Profound is packed with so many intricate features that different team members often handle different aspects. To fully leverage what it offers, a competent team is essential—which is why many brands choose to work with agencies.

What It Helps You Understand:

  • What answer engines think and say about your brand
  • How your website and content are interpreted technically and semantically
  • Your brand’s presence and visibility in AI-generated answers
  • What sources are referenced for AI-genereted responses about your industry and brand
  • What people ask answer engines about your brand and which queries are trending
  • Product visibility on ChatGPT Shopping and shopping-trigger prompts
A screenshot of the Profound dashboard

👍 Why It Stands Out:

  • A comprehensive tool focused on meeting all your needs in one place
  • Offers strong signals to analyze user intent
  • Provides highly detailed competitor analysis and comparisons
  • Advanced features for ChatGPT Shopping and e-commerce AEO
  • Delivers fast and scalable results; companies like 1840 & Co. and Ramp shared that they saw initial results within just 1 month
  • Structurally enterprise-ready; ensures data security and privacy with SOC 2 Type 1 compliance, single sign-on (SSO), and automatic backup features

👎 Why It Falls Behind:

  • Requires technical knowledge to understand the data provided by the platform and implement the AEO strategy. May be difficult to use for brands without a dedicated team.
  • Lacks advanced automation features. Insight-driven actions must be done manually.
  • No persona customization. Customer journeys cannot be analyzed based on personas.
  • Pricing is not transparent. Enterprise-focused sales approach makes it harder for small businesses to access.

Why We Like It:

The team is very dynamic and adapts quickly to innovation (for example, they released the relevant tool on the very day ChatGPT Shopping was announced) and they approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset. Despite the lack of industry standards and uncertainties in data interpretation, they have quickly become one of the most trusted players.

🚀 From seed to scale: Founded in New York by former Uber Sr. Design Engineer Dylan Babbs, the company closed its $3.5M seed round in August 2024.

2 — Scrunch: The Expert-Grade Solution That Makes AEO Effortless

Another powerful tool that allows you to manage all your AEO efforts from a single platform.

Scrunch AI‘s biggest advantage is its ease of use and intuitiveness — but that can also limit its ability to handle complex strategies and requests.

What It Helps You Understand:

  • How your brand is represented in AI-generated responses (and how it compares to your competitors)
  • What answer engines think and say about your brand
  • Your website’s technical compliance and errors; how people and answer engines perceive your brand, and any inconsistencies
  • Which of your content pieces are most reliable, up-to-date, or outdated
  • How your customers behave in answer engines and how your brand appears to ideal customers
A screenshot of the Scrunch AI dashboard

👍 Why It Stands Out:

  • Not just insights—it provides strong, automated, and actionable recommendations that make AEO easier
  • You can build advanced journey maps for each persona
  • Allows fine-tuned understanding of the customer journey, enabling optimization at every stage
  • Offers a unique, interactive map showing which topics your brand is associated with, what content feeds into AI answers, and how content aligns with different queries
  • Even the most detailed analyses of how your brand is perceived by answer engines are presented in a simple, intuitive dashboard

👎 Why It Falls Behind:

  • Reporting tools measuring campaign performance and AI crawler analytics are basic and may not meet complex needs
  • Does not offer a dedicated panel for ChatGPT Shopping
  • Pricing is not transparent and requires a meeting with the team to gain access

Why We Like It:

Scrunch’s dashboard and its ability to provide advice you can act on right away appeal to us. It already makes it easy to manage even complex projects, and if its automation features improve, it could become a reliable assistant for simple and repetitive tasks.

🚀 From seed to scale: Emerged from beta with $4M in seed funding led by Mayfield.

3 — AthenaHQ: The Most Promising Startup to Watch

A globally promising startup that’s rapidly evolving and progressing.

AthenaHQ could surprise everyone in the AEO tools race and take a leading position.

What It Helps You Understand:

  • What answer engines are saying about your brand
  • What the traffic coming from answer engines indicates
  • In which geographical areas your brand performs better
  • Which sources are citing you
  • In which areas your competitors are performing better

👍 Why It Stands Out:

  • Lets you share the real-time insights dashboard with your team
  • Strong regional and local analysis capabilities
  • Provides niche- and location-specific vertical AEO suggestions
  • Claims strong performance in detecting content gaps, hallucinations, and outdated information
  • Delivers custom strategies and content drafts in your brand’s unique tone of voice

👎 Why It Falls Behind:

  • High entry cost ($295/month) for small players
  • The initial free report it provided was insufficient; it incorrectly filled out the explanation for the company whose name was entered
  • Despite having advanced and detailed reporting features, it still falls behind the other two options when it comes to meeting complex needs as a true all-in-one tool
  • The platform offers limited training and support resources

Why We Like It:

From the first visit, the platform gives off a vibe that it could drop an insane insight at any moment. It feels like it’s providing millimetric data and insights to construct the most essential pillars of the ancient city of Athena, helping you build an incredibly strong foundation—upon which AI can build everything else.

🚀 From seed to scale: Founded by former Google Search product manager Andrew Yan. Accepted into Y Combinator’s Winter 2025 batch—one of the world’s most prestigious startup accelerators—and raised a $2.1M early-stage investment.

4 — Peec AI: The Must-Have Inventory Tool for Small Businesses

A basic-level AEO campaign consists of track, analyze, and improve processes.

In this sense, Peec AI professionally delivers everything needed to manage a campaign from start to finish.

What It Helps You Understand:

  • How your brand performs in AI search
  • Which sources matter most as AI answers specific queries
  • Performance benchmarking against competitors and the most visible brands in your industry
  • Latest AI mentions and measurement of those mentions

👍 Why It Stands Out:

  • Excellent price/performance balance for small businesses
  • Dashboard is simple and intuitive—even for beginners
  • Provides results by geography
  • Shows your visibility as a percentage
A screenshot of the Peec AI dashboard

👎 Why It Falls Behind:

  • Does not offer content gap detection & analysis and sentiment analysis
  • May not be sufficient for complex and advanced campaigns

Why We Like It:

AEO tools are often hard to access for individuals or small teams due to high costs. But Peec AI offers a more affordable pricing model, starting at €89.

🚀 From seed to scale: A German startup that closed a seed exceeding $2M on May 1, 2025.

5 – Hall: For Those Who Want to Start Without Paying

You want to explore AEO tools, but the high entry cost makes you question whether it’s worth it.

In that case, Hall, which you can start using for free, might give you a glimpse of what’s possible.

What It Helps You Understand:

  • How your business and website appear in answer engine results
  • A measure of how your brand’s voice stands out in the market
  • Reputation trends
  • Answers that drive traffic
  • Which queries are sending visitors to your site
  • The content used in answer generation
  • How answer engines perceive and feel about your brand
  • Interactions of answer engine bots with your website
  • Your product visibility on ChatGPT Shopping
A screenshot of the Hall dashboard

👍 Why it stands out:

  • Free account allows tracking of 25 queries – no cost at all
  • Backed by a dynamic team that quickly adapts to changes like ChatGPT Shopping
  • The scores and graphs it provides are very clear and easy to understand

👎 Why It Falls Short:

  • You can’t track trends or learn what your audience is asking answer engines
  • Even though there are plans with more queries, it may fall short for complex projects or brands that don’t know what to track
  • Despite the promised ChatGPT Shopping feature, we couldn’t find any data related to it in the free plan

Why We Like It:

Even its paid plans with more queries are priced below industry standards ($199/500 tracked questions). This helps democratize AEO efforts.

🚀 From seed to scale: Founded by Kai Forsyth. No public information is available on whether the company has raised any funding.

6 – GPTrends: The Most Affordable Tool with Proven Technology

Before writing this article, we reviewed over 50 tools. Roughly half offered free trials or reports – we tried them all.

Honestly, very few of the reports actually worked. Some even misclassified AEO Radar as a ‘traffic site’—simply because of the word ‘radar’—a mistake even basic LLMs no longer make. But all 10 prompts displayed by GPTrends for free were relevant, and its competitor & citation detection was spot on.

What It Helps You Understand:

  • Which queries your brand and products appear in – and which ideal ones you don’t
  • How answer engines perceive your brand and products
  • What you’re doing wrong in AEO and what to do next
  • What you need to do to catch up with and surpass your competitors
A screenshot of the GPTrends dashboard

👍 Why it stands out:

  • Free and effective starting point
  • Very accessible pricing ($49/start)
  • Offers an in-depth, personalized suggestions tab combining ease of use with actionable insights
  • Allows comparison of your answer engine performance with your current performance on Google
  • Includes a detailed competitor monitoring dashboard

👎 Why It Falls Short:

  • Doesn’t cite sources for its findings. For example, it noted that some users struggled with AEO Radar, but didn’t indicate what data this was based on.

Why We Like It:

After all, it’s just software — and when the team has a strong tech background, creating a solid product is second nature.

🚀 From seed to scale: Founded by former BeReal product lead Dair Kofman and Skyscanner senior software engineer Vlad Zotov.

7 – BrandLight: A New Beacon Guiding Brands Through the Marketing Maze

When you influence ChatGPT, it influences your customers. So it’s no surprise BrandLight positions ChatGPT as a new marketing channel.

It plays the answer engine optimization game with a broader, more holistic perspective than traditional analytics. Its core focus is on whether your brand wins the visibility war.

What It Helps You Understand:

  • Your brand’s real-time performance on answer engines
  • Which data points influence your brand
  • Direct sentiment, competitive benchmarking, and share of voice
A screenshot of the BrandLight dashboard

👍 Why It Stands Out:

  • Allows you to monitor your brand’s performance against competitors and industry benchmarks in real time
  • Instant alerts help you detect and respond to harmful content quickly – even automatically at times
  • Offers AI-driven influencer & partnership evaluation – helps assess and identify influencers/content partnerships based on how they appear in AI-generated responses
  • Provides clear analysis and recommendations – end-to-end solutions telling you exactly what to do and where
  • Enterprise solution includes a dedicated brand rep to streamline AEO efforts
  • Offers rich, detailed data on sentiment, visibility, category relevance, and competitive benchmarking
  • Takes a fully data-driven approach centered on your brand
  • Allows you to easily distribute brand-approved content to AI platforms and key aggregator sites
A screenshot that shows a real-time BrandLight alert

👎 Why It Falls Short:

  • Point solutions limited to established brands may restrict access to its innovative tech and services for startups and new brands

Why We Like It:

It introduces a lot of innovation and positions itself as a tool that helps brands become storytellers for AI – not just people – in the AI era. Its accurate positioning and modern, clean brand image from the start can make it a trusted end-to-end AI marketing solution.

🚀 From seed to scale: Founded by Imri Marcus, former managing director at Azgard, it raised a $5.75 million seed round.

8 – Bluefish: Visionary AEO Solutions for Brands

Bluefish is positioned as Brandlight’s closest competitor, focusing on enterprise solutions.

What It Helps You Understand:

  • How answer engines describe your brand to consumers
  • Your performance within your product/service category and how it compares to other brands or the industry
  • How well your value proposition and messaging shown in answer engines align with and resonate among your target audience
  • Overall sentiments, opinions, and attitudes answer engines hold about your brand, products, and services

👍 Why It Stands Out:

  • Provides a dashboard where you can build targeted campaigns
  • Makes it easy to create verified data streams
  • The team has a visionary approach that includes AI advertising
  • Your dedicated AI agent can make your brand’s AEO journey seamless

👎 Why It Falls Short:

  • Final product is unknown – currently only accepting early access applications
  • Since paid marketing campaigns run via AI are not yet active on mainstream answer engines like ChatGPT, some features don’t align with real-world conditions

Why We Like It:

Bluefish aims to simplify how brands join verified data streams — a crucial factor, since this is often what answer engines care about most when evaluating your brand. That gives it a strong chance of becoming a major player.

🚀 From seed to scale: Closed a $3.5 million pre-seed round in August 2024.

9 Evertune: The Tool That Reminds You Content is Still King

In AEO, content optimization is a sharp curve on its own. Brands that fail to navigate it can easily crash into the wall.

Evertune enables you to overcome this challenge by creating a detailed content roadmap through sentiment and content analysis.

What It Helps You Understand:

  • Content and answer gaps
  • How answer engines position you compared to your competitors
  • The features of your product that answer engines consider important for consumers
  • Which features of your product are underrepresented and how to highlight them more effectively
  • How and to what extent each piece of content impacts your answer engine performance
A screenshot of the Evertune dashboard

👍 Why It Stands Out:

  • Builds a roadmap for a data-driven content strategy that can be used to train AI models
  • Provides actionable recommendations to your content and marketing teams

👎 Why It Falls Short:

  • AEO is a whole; missing this means even a flawless content strategy may not be enough
  • It creates an image of working only with premium segment brands, which could be a limiting factor in terms of accessibility

❓ Why We Like It:

We’re not sure if it truly stands out in identifying content & answer gaps and building a content roadmap—because we haven’t had the chance to test it. But if they manage to make a difference here, the changing nature of content will become a strong driving force for brands to adapt to it.

🚀 From seed to scale: Closed their seed round with $4 million in October 2024.

10 Azoma: The Tool Focused on Boosting Product Visibility in Answer Engines

ChatGPT Shopping is inevitably becoming part of our habits. This transformation makes answer engine optimization mandatory for e-commerce companies.

Azoma aims to fill this gap by increasing your visibility through optimization and automating the process with speed and scale.

What It Helps You Understand:

  • Your product visibility in answer engines
  • What millions of consumers are asking answer engines about products
  • Emerging consumer trends
A screenshot of the Azoma dashboard

👍 Why It Stands Out:

  • Automatically optimizes your product listings for answer engines
  • Generates answer engine-optimized e-commerce visuals and copy based on your brand guidelines and tone of voice

👎 Why It Falls Short:

  • We haven’t seen any indication that its e-commerce analytics are more detailed or useful than other advanced tools
  • No case study proving the effectiveness of the solution has been shared yet

Why We Like It:

There’s no other tool focused specifically on product visibility in ChatGPT Shopping. Since Azoma has its roots in e-commerce, we think its focus on this vertical increases its potential to stand out.

🚀 From seed to scale: Founded by ex-Amazon Max Sinclair. Announced a $1.4 million raise at the end of 2024.
